LAST CALL FOR RAIN: An upper disturbance and leftover outflow from yesterday’s storms will keep one more day of rain chances hanging in our forecast today. This activity will fire again in the afternoon hours as daytime heating builds energy needed to support storms. Showers and thunderstorms today will be along and west of I-65. Some storms again could be potent, with heavy rain, damaging winds, hail, and frequent lightning. Stay alert. Highs today will hit the upper 80s. It’s warm & muggy for evening plans too with lingering storms in spots.
GREAT WEEKEND FOR DADS: Happy Father’s Day to all the dad’s out there. Mother Nature is really cooking up a treat for you all weekend long. Sunshine will fill the skies Saturday and Sunday with highs in the upper 80s. Lower humidity air is filtered in from the east all weekend long too. Get outdoors and enjoy the park, the lake, or a round of golf. It’s going to be perfect.
MORE TO COME: We’ll stay mainly rain free through most of next week. The lower humidity air ill slowly be overtaken by southerly moist flow each and every day next week. We’ll add a degree or two to the high each day, reaching the mid 90s by Thursday.
BEACH FORECAST: Saturday may feature an isolated afternoon storm or two along the AL/FL gulf coast, but it won’t by any means rain all day. Sunday will be dry from Gulf Shores to Panama City Beach. Highs Saturday will be in the upper 80s with Sunday highs in the mid 80s. An easterly breeze at 10-15mph will prevail. Otherwise, rip current risk is moderate, water temps are in the 81-83° range, and surf will be 2-3’.
Have an amazing and safe weekend!
